Affordable Skincare To Let Your Inner Goddess Shine Through..

So, let me start out by saying, I have pretty normal skin. It's not really oily, and I do get random breakouts. If I don't wash my face every day, twice a day, I breakout and it takes me about a week to fully clear my skin up. I also, have hormonal breakouts occasionally during THAT time, not every time, but often enough. I'd just consider my skin average, and not in special need of anything in particular, I just want to take care of it and have it in its best state possible and being on a budget, I struggle because while I'm not in a full blown "everything needs to be natural”mindset, I do try to have things as natural as they come and as good for my skin as I can get. I'm not saying that what I have and what I use will be a cure all, BUT I have recommended this routine to three people I know, and its cleared their faces up and their skin looks SO healthy, so consider that if you will.

And let me add, while all of these things are linked to Amazon, i personally get them all at Walmart which is even better!

Face Wash:

I use this face wash two times a day EVERY DAY. They also have a "pore cleansing" option as well instead of the acne, along with a "renewing" face wash, and many other options. I've used a few before a settled on this one in particular and while they all made my skin look soooo healthy, I decided on this one because it keeps my breakouts in check.

Fun Fact: did you know you're suppose to wash your face for a MINIMUM of sixty seconds every time? Any less, and the face wash can't fully do what it's intended to do.

Witch Hazel:

I had NO idea toning was even THAT big of a deal, especially for my skin, until after i had my daughter. My skin was so incredibly messed up and I needed some serious help. It helps clean off anything that was left behind after you wash your face, hydrate, nourish, and balance pH levels in your face as well. I did a TON of research on toners and plain old witch hazel was the #1 result and its AMAZING! My skin is so stinkin' soft after i use it. I use this twice daily and its a godsend.

Moisturize:

I have tried a million different moisturizers and they all made me breakout. Literally every single one did me dirty. Until this one. It's lightweight, scentless, and even has Hyaluronic Acid in it which helps with uneven skin tone and elasticity,  as well as lines and wrinkles which is a plus. Legit a lifesaver, my skin is sooooo soft and even since using this, and I only use it at night.

Fun Fact: even if you have oily skin, you need to moisturize. Oily skin is a sign of your skin overcompensating for lack of moisture. There are a lot of good moisturizers for oily skin, check them out!

Exfoliate:

I have always and forever will need to exfoliate. My skin sheds a lot and I can't keep up with it, so i tend to get bumpy skin if i don't exfoliate once a week. I loooove exfoliating, i feel so clean and scrubbed afterwards haha i alternate between 2 different methods for this, my "natural" face scrub which is quite literally a Tablespoon of brown sugar and a few drops of water until it forms a paste, OR this down below. It doubles as a mask, has charcoal, which i love, and works just as good as the natural approach in my opinion.

Mask:

I do this once a week as well. Indian Healing Clay is one of the BEST things to use for detoxing the skin and breakouts, so i use it once a week for a skin detox. I mix mine with a little Apple Cider Vinegar to make it more potent and it really deep cleans my pores, i can quite literally FEEL how clean my skin is after using this, even without touching my face.

A Little Extra:

I've posted about this before a few blogs back, but i add 3 drops of Tea Tree Oil to my moisturizer nightly. This is something I've started within the last month or so after i read that it is good for the skin and has antimicrobial properties. I've noticed since using it, my breakouts last about half the time, but I'm still gathering research on that one haha.

My Hidden Gem:

Listen to this one guys, when i was having a bunch of breakouts i got desperate...like SUPER desperate, i searched and searched and i found these little patches for TWO DOLLARS! The price itself says "it won't work" but LADIES, they are miracle workers. You get a breakout, once it comes to a tip, put one of these over it and in 8 hours it literally sucks aaaall the stuff out of it and the breakout is gone. The "hole" is still there after you take the patch off, but it closes up within minutes and then you're left with a clear face. I don't know what's in it, or how it works but holy moly!!

My goal with skin care is to be able to walk out of the house and feel confident. I'm a mom and sometimes I'd like to just get dressed, maybe do my hair, and go. After getting the kids ready, I don't have time to get ready myself so I'd like my skin to positively represent me. So far I've went six months without wearing any face makeup. No foundations, no creams, nothing on my face. Don't get me wrong, my face is FAR from perfect and I'll never see it as perfect but, we are our own worst critics right? haha I know my face is clearer, healthier, smoother, and more vibrant since i started using these products and if you're in the need of a face care system on a budget, I hope it helps you. There's no need to HAVE to buy them all at once either, so don't worry. I used just the face wash and toner for a bit until I added more and found the "perfect" skin care system for me. Just know that even if you don't use these specific products, all of these steps are super important for healthy skin. Always wash, tone, moisturize, exfoliate once a week, and treat yourself to a mask once in awhile.

Xx,
Autumn
